Music Tuition

Over 450 students at Davenant Foundation School have Instrumental, Dance or Drama Tuition
on a weekly basis.  Students are tutored by 21 highly skilled musicians and teachers with a great deal of experience in dealing with young musicians.  Students at Davenant take part in several
sell-out concerts, dance productions and musicals and even have the opportunity to perform abroad.

Lesson times change each week and typically last for 30 minutes.  We aim to run a system
resulting in pupils not missing the same lesson more than three times a term.  Some parents
may be concerned about this aspect of learning, but experience has shown that pupils learn to organise themselves well and make up any missed work without problems.  It is important to
note that some lessons fall outside of school hours.

It is possible for most instruments to be hired directly from the school at a modest hire charge.  Any child who has lessons at the school will be required to take part in the appropriate band or choir.  This is compulsory.

Parents and students are able to view lesson times and access other useful information on our Performing Arts Website www.davenantperformingarts.org.uk

If you wish your child to have instrumental, singing, dance or drama lessons, please return the attached form.  Please make payment by ParentPay or cheque (payable to Davenant Foundation School) to the Performing Arts Department, no later than 12th April 2013.

Please read the full Terms and Conditions.

Being part of the Performing Arts Department is an invaluable and enriching part of school life and one that is held in the highest regard by students and staff.
